Emily Orme

Emily’s priority as a yoga teacher is to create a welcoming, non-judgemental and nourishing environment. Her classes encourage people to question their movement habits with a playful and flowing energy. She inspires engaging with your imagination when exploring yoga postures, breath and relaxation.

Emily’s yoga practice feeds from a holistic heritage in movement, including training as a dancer at Northern School of Contemporary Dance and gaining an MA in Movement Teaching from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Alongside teaching yoga, she is a movement director and choreographer for theatre and film. Connecting with movement in different mediums feeds inspiration and imagination into her evolving yoga practice. She regularly runs rural yoga retreats in Somerset where she grew up.

Her teaching provides gentle and positive guidance to offer awareness of the anatomical and reflective self. She encourages students to understand and question their movement habits. Her yoga practice has a fluidity as she connects postures to form a sequence, carried by the foundation of grounding and breath to nourish the body from the inside out. Emily enjoys exploring playful visualisation when embodying yoga postures. She is always open minded and flexible when teaching so that she can adapt to the energy levels and personal requirements of any class in any moment. She offers a restorative relaxation to complete each class, to rebalance energy levels.
