Mary attended her first yoga class at the age of 17, many years ago, and yoga has continued to be an integral part of her life since. She believes practicing yoga has helped her face and cope with the many obstacles life has presented to her. Her practice became deeper and more frequent over time, leading her to take a 200hYTT Vinyasa Flow in 2013 with Frog Lotus Yoga. Undertaking this training not only to enable Mary to pass on to others the wonderful benefits of yoga but also to deepen her own practice. In 2014 she continued her training at The Special Yoga Centre in London, completing a 40hour YTT in Gentle Yoga with Rev Padma Devi. Mary has spent the last 2 years studying Yoga Therapy with ‘Real Yoga’ as her interest primarily lies in assisting people to use yoga as a a tool for overcoming and coping with physical and emotional upset.
Mary teaches a gentle, flowing, healing practice. Stretching the whole body, bringing awareness to the breath to calm the mind. Giving students time out from their everyday lives, aiming to lead them to feelings of rejuvenation and relaxation. She has experience of working with people with and recovering from cancer, heart disease, scoliosis, fibromyalgia, arthritis, Parkinson’s and Lupus. She particularly invites people to practice with her if they have not exercised for a long time, are older, or have specific health/stress issues.
Mary hopes to inspire her students to bring about balance, strength, flexibility and agility to themselves, calm their minds and strengthen their spirits.
