Yoga – A Beginners Guide

We get so many people asking us why they should take up yoga, so we thought we would give you a few reasons!

Yoga can
❤️ Reduce stress
❤️ Improve circulation
❤️ Increase happiness
❤️ Boost confidence
❤️ Help you sleep
❤️ Build stability and improve fitness …..we could go on and on!

There are just sooooo many benefits to practising yoga, a lot of them are how it makes you feel, it really is a complete mind and body workout. As well as giving you a healthier body and a twinkle in your eye, yoga will help to strip away any mental clutter as you breathe away everyday worries and distractions, who doesn’t need that right now?!

From the very first moves in class, yoga can be as gentle or energetic as you chose. You do not have to be flexible or fit to do yoga. You can even practice anywhere from a quiet space at home, the garden, a hotel or a park (our favourite is Burgess Park obviously!). Yoga really is for EVERY body. You may feel some benefits straight away, you may need to persevere for a few weeks or months. With a little practice, patience and resilience, yoga can give you complete and all round wellness and happiness

Where you start or how many classes you attend, is completely down to you, we would recommend 2 – 3 times per week for 3 months to really see big benefits, but even coming once a week you will notice changes. It’s about giving you the time to explore YOU through yoga …. it also gives you a chance to connect with your body and appreciate it for all of the amazing things that it can do, not what it can’t

If you’re new to yoga, live locally in Camberwell or Elephant and Castle and want to practice in a studio with a warm and friendly vibe, we would love to see you!

We also have 6 week complete beginners courses that run every 6 weeks, our next one starts on Thursday 2nd April. These courses start off with the very basics (how to sit, how to breathe, how to lie down, how to be comfortable!) and build each week, aiming for you to feel confident in an all levels class by the end of the course. The feedback is always amazing and most students move to memberships after the 6 weeks is over as they fall in love with yoga.

We won’t take it too seriously so just come along, have a giggle and meet like minded people. We have lots of lovely students and teachers from all over South East London, including Camberwell, Kennington and the lovely Walworth Road! Lost In Yoga is a welcoming community for everyone – you are never too old, inflexible or inexperienced to experience the healing benefits of yoga.

Still not sure where to start? Drop us an email or give us a call, we are a friendly bunch who love to help! ❤
